Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for the role of Tony Stark.

 A mini-epic

A. Recently a ferry ran aground and sunk in South Korea. Many of the people on board who were killed were high school students on a field trip. As the investigation has continued a number of people have been arrested and will be charged with a crime. Among those are the captain of the ship who was reportedly one of the first off the ship and was on one of the few lifeboats that got away. The ship had been modified to carry more passengers and this may have contributed to its sinking (which was very quick, some reports say as fast as 10 minutes). It has spread to the government of South Korea and the Prime Minister of the country resigned over the weekend. What do you know and think about this event? AND (please don't forget this part) Who should be held accountable, the captain of the ship, the owners of the ship itself, the Prime Minister of the country (this would be like President Obama resigning over an airplane crash that killed 300 people because he withheld information about the crash for some reason)??? Why??
I don't really know anything about this event but I think that obviously it was the captains fault. He was responsible for the ferry and everyone on it. If he was the first one off the boat that means that he obviously didn't take responsibility in the people on it. I think that h should pay the consequences.

Folios- an individual leaf of paper or parchment, numbered on the recto or front side only, occurring either loose as one of a series or forming part of a bound volume.

Captions- in print, short pieces of text placed below or beside pictures to describe them and identify the photographers and/or owners. 

Stories- 

Bylines- The writer’s name, printed at the beginning or end of an article

Jumps- A line of type at the bottom of an incomplete newspaper or magazine article which directs the reader to another page where the story is continued.

Story dividers- line between stories 

Screens- things to make text pop out 

Infographics- a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data.

Masthead/staff box- a box or column, usually on the editorial page of a newspaper or magazine, giving the names of the owners, staff members

Other High School Newspapers

1. What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?  The Odyssey, because the basketball player really stood out to me because of how professionally done it looked.
2. Which paper immediately grabbed your interest? Why? The Tiger Print because it had a picture of teen mom and her baby so I wanted to know what they had to say about it.
3. What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? Teen Pregnancy:Amelia's Story because at our school no one talks about getting pregnant but in this school they actual open up to the idea.

5. What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc. They all have one larger picture and headline than the rest.
6. What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc. Some have one large photo that fills the entire age while other have more text to them.
7. Were these similar to what you saw last class when you looked at daily newspapers from around the world? A little bit.

The Courier Journal because it is bright and colorful

Thunder Turns 25 because there is a huge picture of fireworks behind it which means that it must have been some sort of celebration.

They all have one larger photo with broader text around it and have smaller articles underneath.

2. Sometimes the photos aren't as noticeable and the text is more important. The sizes of text and headlines also vary.

A. Why do you think that these random acts of violence keep occurring at US Military bases here in the United States, like the one that happened at Fort Hood yesterday? Remember this is the second time in just a short number of years that this has happened at that base.

I think that more and more people may be getting tired of the way they are being treated. Also I think that people are starting to take advantage of it. And that many mentally unstable people are being enrolled.
